Precertification Coordinator

Job Summary

Working remotely, the Precertification Coordinator will manage precertification processes for sleep study referrals, ensuring effective communication with patients and healthcare providers while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Identify payor coverage and verify pre-certification status through inquiries to third-party payers
• Coordinate referrals and ensure optimal documentation of medical necessity for sleep studies
• Communicate outcomes of precertification requests to physicians and patients, while monitoring for decision outcomes

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred
• Medical background and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Experience in a customer service role within a healthcare setting is advantageous
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Word and Access
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team in a clinical environment
