Principal AI Architect

Job Summary

Defining Ford Credit's multi-year enterprise AI architecture strategy, the full-time Principal AI Architect will shape secure, cloud-native, production-ready systems while managing a team of architects and establishing reusable standards for AI-native software development in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement Ford Credit's enterprise AI architecture strategy, including roadmaps and investment priorities
• Establish an AI-native software delivery lifecycle that integrates specifications, execution, validation, and learning loops
• Architect production agentic systems ensuring integration of models, tools, and security measures while guiding the modernization of legacy systems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• At least 12 years of progressive technology experience, with a minimum of 8 years in architecture roles responsible for enterprise decisions
• Experience architecting and operating enterprise AI/ML systems in production, including generative AI and model lifecycle management
• Deep cloud architecture experience on Google Cloud or a comparable hyperscaler, with strong security architecture expertise
• Proven ability to create standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps used across teams
