Principal AI Architect

Job Summary

To support a leading healthcare revenue cycle technology company, the full-time Principal AI Architect will set the technical vision and architecture for AI initiatives, build in-house AI capabilities on a modern lakehouse data platform, and evolve into the Head of AI Engineering as the team expands, all while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and roadmap for AI and automation, providing leadership with insights on feasibility, value, cost, and risk
• Design and build AI systems, including single- and multi-agent systems, knowledge graphs, and document intelligence solutions
• Lead the technical build process from design through production, mentoring the AI engineering team and establishing standards for AI development

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in software, data, or ML engineering, with at least 7 years focused on machine learning
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience building and debugging AI systems
• Production experience with LLM agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and knowledge graphs
• Proven track record of managing AI costs and demonstrating ROI in AI projects
• Experience securing AI systems within regulated or sensitive-data environments
