Principal AI Engineer

Job Summary

As a strategic and hands-on contributor, the full-time Principal AI Engineer will architect practical AI solutions, guiding teams in developing a core platform of reusable tools while serving as a primary technical consultant for product and architecture leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for product and architecture leaders during AI system design and implementation
• Oversee the development of a centralized hub for LLM interactions and maintain a standardized LLM client
• Provide insights on the value and cost of AI initiatives while establishing best practices for the ML lifecycle

Required qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with modern LLM-based systems and traditional machine learning
• Proven experience in designing and maintaining reusable software components and APIs
• Exceptional communication skills with a background in internal consulting or solutions architecture
• A track record of implementing performance measurement systems and making data-driven decisions
• Strong understanding of AI governance, including data privacy and model safety
