Principal AI Engineer, MLOps
Job Summary
To pioneer the next generation of space-based intelligence, the remote Principal AI Engineer, MLOps will design, scale, deploy, and automate advanced computer vision and machine learning architectures, leading end-to-end model development and ensuring production integration.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading full-lifecycle model engineering from problem formulation to deployment and error analysis
- Driving model robustness against real-world satellite conditions and ensuring reliable production integration
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship while communicating progress and risks to cross-functional teams
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in computer vision or machine learning for geospatial imagery
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Expert proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning systems using PyTorch or similar frameworks
- Proven experience in designing and deploying production-grade computer vision models
- Strong background in working with remote sensing imagery and building geospatial data pipelines
