Job Summary
To support the engineering roadmap of a leading SaaS platform in the sports technology sector, the full-time Principal Backend Software Engineer will develop modern backend services for high-volume product experiences, focusing on areas such as video delivery, e-commerce, and team management while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of feature execution, navigating unfamiliar codebases and using modern coding tools to enhance development and testing
- Design and implement backend microservices and REST APIs using TypeScript and Node.js, ensuring robust architecture and reliability
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate ambiguous requirements into effective technical solutions
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of production software engineering experience with complex software systems
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with backend microservices and REST APIs using TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong experience in designing distributed, event-driven systems and asynchronous workflows
- Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and modern DevOps practices
- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools in software engineering
