Principal Data Engineer
Job Summary
Partnering closely with senior leadership, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will serve as a strategic architect for MGM's Marketing and Revenue Management data ecosystem, defining architectural direction and leading modernization initiatives in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities:
- Define the multi-year architectural vision for MGM's Lakehouse platform, focusing on governance and reliability
- Architect scalable solutions for high-volume datasets across various environments, ensuring data consistency and governance alignment
- Lead the adoption of modern data engineering patterns and mentor Senior and Staff Data Engineers
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or distributed systems
- 5+ years of experience in architecting large-scale workloads in Databricks or equivalent Spark platforms
- Expert-level knowledge of Databricks and Lakehouse architecture
- Advanced skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL
