Principal Data Engineer
Job Summary
Designing and scaling data pipelines, the full-time remote Principal Data Engineer will manage the full pipeline lifecycle from raw data ingestion to analytics preparation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to set technical direction for data infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Move data through the full pipeline lifecycle, applying transformation, validation, and testing to prepare data for analytics consumption
- Build and maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for orchestrating data ingestion and transformation across various layers
- Set technical standards for pipeline design and mentor other data engineers on best practices
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, including senior or technical lead roles
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and extracting data from heterogeneous sources
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (Python, Scala, or Java)
- Experience parsing and modeling semi-structured JSON data within a cloud data warehouse like Snowflake
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred
