Principal Data Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a Principal Data Engineer to work remotely in a full-time capacity, this role will manage complex data engineering initiatives, provide technical mentorship, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Own the design, architecture, and implementation of advanced data engineering projects, addressing technical challenges and ensuring data quality
- Serve as a technical mentor, providing guidance and code reviews to enhance the skills of junior data engineers
- Collaborate with product and analytics teams to translate complex requirements into effective engineering solutions
Required qualifications
- 7-10+ years of data engineering experience with a proven track record of building scalable data pipelines
- Deep expertise in data architecture and tools such as Airflow, Spark, dbt, or Databricks
- Strong proficiency in cloud data platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and services such as Snowflake or Redshift
- Advanced skills in Python and SQL, with additional proficiency in Scala or Java being a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
