Principal Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the technical strategy and architecture for the analytics data platform and semantic layer, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will design scalable data models and ensure reliable data access for business decision-making in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own and lead the technical strategy for the DI&T analytics data platform, ensuring it supports various business needs
- Design and develop scalable data models and curated datasets for analytics across financial, clinical, and operational domains
- Establish and apply data modeling and governance standards to enhance the consistency and maintainability of the analytics environment
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data architecture, including leadership of production data platforms
- Deep expertise in dbt and Snowflake or equivalent analytical platforms
- Advanced SQL capabilities and production data engineering experience, including pipeline maintenance and orchestration
- Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, and metadata management
