Job Summary
Leading the technical direction for data architecture, the full-time remote Principal Data Engineer will design and implement high-throughput data pipelines, ensure platform reliability, and enable AI-driven analytics while collaborating across engineering and product teams.
Key responsibilities
- Drive architectural decisions and champion modern data stack adoption to enhance platform capabilities
- Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines, ensuring data quality and compliance across multiple products
- Mentor engineering teams and influence best practices in data governance and technical standards
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of data engineering experience, with 3-5 years at a principal or staff level in a start-up environment
- Production-grade experience with Snowflake and dbt, along with real-time streaming technologies such as KSQL or Apache Flink
- Hands-on AWS experience, including cloud data architecture and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong background in data modeling and pipeline design
- Demonstrated experience in implementing data governance standards and AI usage in engineering workflows
