Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Owning the end-to-end domain-specific content modeling work, the full-time remote Principal Data Scientist will design and build NLP enrichment pipelines, evaluate various NLP approaches, and write production-quality Python code to support high-volume workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement NLP pipelines for extracting entities, classifications, claims, and summaries from scientific texts
• Evaluate and compare traditional NLP methods and LLM-based approaches, making informed decisions on the best tools for each task
• Collaborate with data engineers to orchestrate data pipelines and ensure reliability and efficiency in production environments

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience in Python programming, particularly in production environments
• Strong background in both modern and classical NLP techniques
• Proven ability to evaluate and select appropriate methodologies for specific tasks
• Demonstrated track record of delivering systems that provide real value to users
• Familiarity with AWS services and data lake patterns is a plus
