Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Driving experimentation standards and methodologies, the full-time Principal Data Scientist will work remotely to connect software vendors with buyers through data science, while also mentoring team members and influencing engineering practices.

Key responsibilities:

• Own and consolidate experimentation standards across G2, ensuring a documented and defensible approach
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement low-friction standards and instrumentation for experimentation
• Evaluate and operationalize modern experimentation methods, communicating their impact across product and engineering stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in data science or applied statistics, with a focus on experimentation, or a PhD in a quantitative discipline plus 6+ years
• Deep expertise in experimental design and causal inference, including knowledge of online controlled experiments
• Strong applied experience with time series and web/behavioral data at scale
• Fluency in Python and SQL, with familiarity in modern data ecosystems like Snowflake and Spark
• Demonstrated experience influencing engineering partners and setting technical standards adopted by teams
