Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Driving the technical vision for data science, the full-time Principal Data Scientist will lead the design and deployment of complex statistical and machine learning models, collaborating remotely with senior leadership to shape the data science roadmap and deliver impactful analytical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of high-stakes statistical and machine learning models in ambiguous problem spaces
• Drive end-to-end delivery of data science initiatives, from problem framing to model monitoring and iteration
• Define and enforce standards for model development and serve as a technical authority on design decisions

Required qualifications

• Deep experience in building and deploying credit risk models in the fintech or financial services industry
• 10+ years of hands-on model development experience using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques
• Proven track record of leading high-impact data science initiatives from ambiguity to production
• Expertise in Python, SQL, and Git, with experience in cloud platforms such as AWS
• Bachelor's degree in Financial/Applied Math, Operations Research, Economics, or Statistics; Master's/PhD is a plus
