Principal Data Scientist
Job Summary
Leading the development of personalized shopping experiences, the full-time remote Principal Data Scientist will design and implement recommendation and ranking models while mentoring data scientists and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end consumer personalization strategy, defining modeling approaches for various platforms
- Design and build recommendation and ranking systems that optimize relevance and inventory management
- Lead the development of agentic AI experiences for consumers, integrating LLM-powered tools for enhanced user interaction
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of data science or machine learning experience, or 8+ years with a PhD in a quantitative field
- Proven track record of deploying recommendation and personalization systems that improve consumer metrics
- Expertise in classic machine learning techniques and hands-on experience with LLMs
- Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with core ML libraries and SQL
- Experience in leading technical direction and mentoring within teams
