Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Owning the modeling problem from conception to production, the fully remote Principal Data Scientist will build and enhance models for matching records and assessing confidence in results, while collaborating closely with the Director of Data Science and product owners.

Key responsibilities

• Build and improve models that match records and evaluate result confidence
• Design evaluation metrics and hand-checking processes to ensure model accuracy
• Deploy models to production on AWS, managing retraining and documentation processes

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of applied data science experience with a focus on production deployment
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; a master's is preferred or equivalent experience
• Experience with large datasets (100 million rows or more) using Spark, Python, and SQL
• Proven ability to evaluate model performance without a clean answer key
• Familiarity with personal data handling regulations and best practices
