Principal DataOps Engineer

Job Summary

As a remote full-time Principal DataOps Engineer, the successful candidate will serve as a technical authority and strategic leader, defining the vision and execution standards for Workday's data platform, while managing complex infrastructure transformations and ensuring operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Define long-term vision and architecture blueprints for enterprise cloud infrastructure, mentoring senior engineers and establishing foundational standards
• Establish knowledge synchronization standards and govern "Documentation as Code" paradigms across global DevOps and Analytics Engineering teams
• Mitigate infrastructure risks and design high-scale data reliability parameters to ensure uptime during periods of hyper-growth

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional technical leadership experience in DataOps, DevOps, cloud automation, or platform engineering
• Expert-level command over high-scale distributed data platforms and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Snowflake, or similar enterprise data platforms is preferred
• Master-level capability in directing AI-forward validation and deployment frameworks
• Proven ability to navigate high-pressure corporate environments and secure functional consensus across competing business units
