Principal Design Engineer
Job Summary
Owning and evolving the design system, the full-time Principal Design Engineer will manage component authoring, tooling between design and code, and infrastructure for AI agents, ensuring cross-platform consistency in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the design system, ensuring parity between design and code
- Develop tooling that maintains alignment between design and code, including automated checks
- Build infrastructure for AI agents to effectively utilize the design system
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years in a hybrid design/frontend role, including experience in frontend engineering or design engineering
- A portfolio showcasing both design and build contributions to a design system
- Proficiency in production React and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of component API design
- Experience with Figma at an authoring level, including variables and design-to-code mapping
- Hands-on experience writing agent skills and using Claude Code or equivalent tools
