Principal DevOps Engineer
Job Summary
Driving the technical vision for NBC's broadcast production environments, the full-time Principal DevOps Engineer will architect a Kubernetes-native platform, manage cloud infrastructure automation, and lead cross-discipline collaboration, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Architect a Kubernetes-native platform for broadcast infrastructure, automating provisioning and lifecycle management across multi-account AWS environments
- Design and maintain production-grade Kubernetes operators and internal platform APIs, integrating external enterprise platforms into the control plane
- Lead cloud networking design and cross-account connectivity in hybrid environments, ensuring operational excellence through GitOps-based continuous delivery
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in designing, building, and operating production infrastructure and cloud-native platforms
- Strong proficiency in Go and experience with building Kubernetes controllers/operators
- Expert-level knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem and deep production experience with Crossplane
- Extensive experience with AWS multi-account architectures and networking patterns
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools, specifically Puppet
