Principal Engineer

Job Summary

Seasoned technical leaders will find a full-time remote Principal Engineer opportunity focused on defining technical vision, leading system design and implementation, and mentoring engineering teams to enhance architectural excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the technical vision for your domain, ensuring high-quality outcomes through hands-on coding and implementation leadership
• Drive major architectural decisions related to scale, reliability, and security while producing complete, production-ready system designs
• Coach and mentor engineering teams, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing to improve overall engineering effectiveness

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of industry experience in large-scale enterprise web or SaaS applications, with 7+ years in senior individual contributor roles
• Proven track record of designing and shipping large-scale distributed systems
• Deep expertise in a primary technology stack (e.g., C#/.NET, Java, C++) and strong command of distributed systems fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and solid grounding in data architecture
• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
