Principal Engineer & AI Lead
Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer & AI Lead, this full-time position will establish and lead a small, autonomous engineering team, focusing on technical direction, architecture, and the integration of AI coding agents while actively developing software alongside team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and design decisions for the team's applications and services
- Integrate AI coding agents into the development lifecycle and establish effective workflows for AI-assisted tasks
- Take responsibility for delivering production-ready capabilities from problem definition through deployment and operational support
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership
- Strong software design and architecture skills, balancing simplicity and operational needs
- Experience delivering and operating production software end to end
- Proficiency in at least one primary technology stack and understanding of testing strategies and CI/CD
- Practical experience using AI coding agents in real engineering workflows
