Principal Engineer, AI Security

Job Summary

To secure AI systems and operationalize ML-powered security at cloud scale, the full-time remote Principal Engineer, AI Security will lead DigitalOcean's engagement with the AI security community, define integration of AI security controls into products, and drive the AI Security strategy and roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product Security and Engineering to integrate AI security controls into customer-facing products
• Lead adversarial testing and AI red teaming, ensuring robust security measures are in place
• Own and drive the AI Security strategy, establishing policies and standards for responsible AI/ML system development and monitoring

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 4-5 years focused on AI/ML security
• Demonstrated track record of defining and driving AI or security programs at an organizational level
• Deep knowledge of adversarial ML attack and defense techniques
• Strong programming skills in Python and Go, with experience in building security tooling and automation
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Mathematics, or a related field
