Principal Engineer, AI Systems
Job Summary
Leading the design and development of AI-native agentic workflows, the full-time Principal Engineer, AI Systems will enhance engineering productivity and operational excellence in a remote environment by architecting intelligent agents and integrating automation across Teradata's AI Platform.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build AI agents for observability, automated root cause analysis, and engineering productivity optimization
- Design agentic workflows that integrate across telemetry pipelines, application stacks, and cloud infrastructure
- Drive AI-native development practices and partner with engineering teams to embed intelligent automation into CI/CD and DevOps workflows
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on AI/ML systems in production environments
- Proven experience building AI agents or autonomous workflows, not just consuming AI APIs
- Strong programming expertise in Python and familiarity with either Java or Go
- Experience with distributed systems, telemetry data, and observability architectures
- Foundational AI skills, including prompt engineering and model evaluation
