Principal Engineer Physical Design

Job Summary

Owning RTL to GDS physical implementation flows, the fully remote Principal Engineer Physical Design will manage high-performance design processes, including synthesis, floor-planning, and timing closure, while collaborating closely with micro-architects to optimize performance, power, and area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead physical design implementation from RTL to GDS, ensuring quality and performance metrics are met
• Collaborate with micro-architects to assess and recommend design trade-offs for high-performance and low-power solutions
• Conduct physical design validation flows including timing, power, and design rule checking to ensure compliance and quality

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Five years of experience in physical design or related roles such as Project Engineer or Design Engineer
• Proficiency in floor planning, clock trees, and physical design flow automation
• Experience with ICC and SoC architecture
• Knowledge of physical design validation processes and methodologies
