Principal FPGA Networking Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of advanced FPGA-based networking solutions for space-based electronic systems, the full-time remote Principal FPGA Networking Engineer will architect, implement, and verify complex high-speed programmable logic designs, focusing on data transport and packet processing functions using AMD (Xilinx) technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA-based networking pipelines, including Ethernet MAC/PHY integration and packet switching architectures
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to create on-board networking and data transport solutions for space applications
• Develop and maintain simulation testbenches to ensure functional correctness and performance of networking firmware modules

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or 7+ years with a master's degree
• Hands-on experience with FPGA-based networking design, including Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) and packet-switched architectures
• Experience with RTL design and coding using VHDL and/or Verilog
• Thorough understanding of FPGA design methodology, including timing closure techniques and verification processes
