Principal Linux Administrator
Job Summary
Providing ongoing Systems Administration support, the full-time Principal Linux Administrator will manage installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux environments while advising on programming tools and database systems in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Systems Administration efforts, allocating work assignments and providing guidance to team members
- Translate long-term business requirements into systems and infrastructure design, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
- Advise on complex, business-critical issues and provide infrastructure leadership for hardware and software systems support
Required qualifications
- BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred
- Expert-level expertise in Linux systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and advise on complex issues across the organization
- Experience with Red Hat Linux, AIX, and familiarity with Unix and VMware
- Knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) and high-availability (HA) principles, including in cloud environments
