Principal Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To advance cloud platform capabilities, the remote Principal Platform Engineer will define secure, reliable, and scalable product delivery systems while modernizing legacy infrastructure and mentoring engineering teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Define the technical vision for cloud platform services that enhance developer productivity and customer outcomes
- Lead the modernization of legacy infrastructure and guide application developers towards modern, service-based deployments
- Establish platform reliability practices, including SLOs, observability, and incident response
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in building and operating mission-critical platforms across DevOps, infrastructure, or software engineering
- Principal-level architecture judgment in scalability, reliability, security, and observability
- Advanced expertise in AWS services, including compute, networking, and storage
- Deep hands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, GitOps, and deployment automation
- Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and influence architectural standards across teams
