Principal Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the architecture and reliability of the Data Platform, the full-time remote Principal Platform Engineer will manage CDC ingestion, storage, and orchestration for data pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee CDC ingestion processes and manage raw data schemas across multiple domains
• Develop and maintain orchestration infrastructure using Terraform for data lake tiers
• Implement and operate data cataloguing infrastructure and ensure observability and operational excellence for the Data Platform

Required qualifications

• Deep, hands-on experience with AWS services such as Glue, Athena, and S3, along with strong Terraform skills
• Working knowledge of CDC pipelines and Iceberg-based lakehouse tiering
• Familiarity with Kafka-based event streaming technologies
• Strong cross-team communication skills and experience in incident response and SLO management
• Ability to manage up and communicate technical positions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
