Principal Platform Engineer
Job Summary
As a senior individual contributor, the full-time Principal Platform Engineer will serve as the technical authority for a multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, driving architecture decisions and systems design while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fully remote capacity or at hub locations in Brooklyn, NY, or Washington, DC.
Key responsibilities
- Drive technical decisions and systems architecture across multiple organizations and contribute to company-wide design initiatives
- Own the platform reference architecture across various environments and define engineering patterns for teams to follow
- Translate company strategy into technical strategy, ensuring alignment with customer and product outcomes while communicating options to leadership
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in building and operating cloud infrastructure, with a focus on platform engineering
- Production experience in AWS and/or Azure at multi-account, multi-environment scale
- Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management and multi-cluster operations
- Programming ability in Python, Go, or similar languages, with a history of writing code
