Principal Quality Engineer
Job Summary
Defining the technical vision and engineering standards for quality, the full-time Principal Quality Engineer will architect scalable automation platforms and govern AI-specific quality controls while working in a hybrid environment based in Elmwood Park, NJ.
Key responsibilities
- Own the enterprise quality engineering and AI assurance architecture, including principles, target-state capabilities, and measurable adoption standards
- Architect modular automation platforms for various testing types, including UI, API, and performance validation
- Establish AI evaluation frameworks addressing task correctness, robustness, bias, and explainability across machine learning and generative AI systems
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, AI, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Typically 12+ years in software engineering or quality engineering, with recent leadership in AI or ML quality
- Expert-level coding and framework design skills in Python, Java, TypeScript, C#, or comparable languages
- Deep knowledge of test architecture, reliability engineering, and risk-based release governance
- Hands-on understanding of ML and generative-AI evaluation and responsible-AI risks
