Principal Scientist, AI/ML

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Principal Scientist, AI/ML, who will lead the scientific and technical direction of AI initiatives across the structural heart disease journey, focusing on developing scalable AI solutions and domain-specific foundation models while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable AI solutions in partnership with subject matter experts and engineering teams
• Drive research and experimentation in advanced AI techniques, ensuring models meet standards for safety and performance
• Set scientific standards and provide mentorship to junior engineers and data scientists while collaborating on AI-enabled product development

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering with a focus on complex system implementations
• Proven experience in designing, training, and validating machine learning models end to end
• Deep technical breadth in at least two areas: natural language processing, computer vision, or time-series modeling
• Experience deploying AI/ML models into production systems
• Strong programming skills, particularly in Python, and familiarity with common ML and DL libraries
