Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the application architecture, the full-time Principal Software Engineer will set technical direction across insurance, claims, partner integration, and AI systems, while working remotely or from New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end state of the insurance provider interface, including managing legacy models and dual-write paths
- Design onboarding processes for partners and carriers to streamline the addition of new benefits administrators
- Run architecture reviews, maintain a decision log, and ensure teams are unblocked without escalation
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in cross-cutting architectural decisions impacting multiple domains
- Track record of retiring and scaling systems, with experience in half-migrated codebases
- Depth in Python, Django, relational data modeling, and third-party integrations at scale
- Experience with non-deterministic systems in production and understanding of evaluation and versioning
- Familiarity with insurance, benefits, payments, healthcare, or other regulated domains is a strong plus
