Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
Driving technical direction within the Billing Core domain, the full-time Principal Software Engineer will design systems, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the reliability of billing services in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Own complex billing and account management systems across multiple services and cloud providers
- Build large-scale data pipelines for billing data ingestion, transformation, and reconciliation
- Improve observability, incident response, and reliability of core billing systems using modern DevOps practices
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years in backend or platform engineering, with expertise in Python and PostgreSQL
- Proven experience in improving reliability and observability in production systems
- Solid background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Ability to lead multi-quarter projects and mentor engineers
- Experience with SaaS billing, metering, or financial systems is a plus
