Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing platform engineering team, the full-time Principal Software Engineer will build self-service APIs and tools, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the platform's quality and reliability in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Push quality attributes into the platform, implementing testing and regression gates, and ensuring visibility of costs
- Run the platform as a curated internal product, identifying capabilities to build and measuring adoption and developer satisfaction
- Build software solutions for CI/CD, environments, and observability, enabling teams to operate independently
Required Qualifications
- Experience in both software engineering and systems engineering, particularly with cloud, Kubernetes, and networking
- Proven reliability ownership, including SLOs, observability, and incident response
- Demonstrated customer empathy through engagement with engineering teams to understand needs
- Experience managing long-running projects, particularly migrations and platform sunset processes
- Current hands-on production coding experience and a pragmatic approach to software development
