Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
To shape the future of collaborative data management, the remote Principal Software Engineer will architect the Sheet Data Platform, design scalable services for real-time user experiences, and lead high-stakes migrations while influencing cross-organizational technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect the end-to-end design for how sheet data is stored and served across transactional databases and the lakehouse platform
- Identify and prototype technical opportunities and risks, turning them into initiatives for leadership investment
- Plan and execute changes to petabyte-scale production data with zero customer impact
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience building scalable, low-latency systems, with several years at a Principal or Staff level
- Experience designing and operating asynchronous distributed systems on AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure
- Proven track record of shipping ambitious projects from prototype to production across multiple teams
- Experience with large relational or distributed datastores, including tuning and scaling them effectively
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical industry experience
