Job Summary
Seeking a full-time remote Principal Software Engineer, this role will manage complex technical challenges, contribute to production code, and evolve mature applications while providing senior technical leadership across multiple teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Solve complex technical problems by deeply understanding applications, codebases, and operational behaviors
- Remain hands-on by contributing to production code and owning significant technical projects and investigations
- Help evolve mature products by identifying architectural constraints and recommending modernization investments
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on senior technical leadership
- Hands-on experience with PHP, MySQL, Java, and MS SQL Server at a Principal or Staff Engineer level
- Strong application architecture skills and ability to navigate complex technical problems
- Experience with modernization or significant system evolution in mature software systems
- Practical fluency with modern AI-assisted software development tools and techniques
