Job Summary
As the founding technical seat, the full-time Principal Software Engineer, AI will architect and build new internal AI systems from design to production, ensuring trustworthy AI at scale while working remotely within a senior team in the Office of the CEO.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build new internal AI systems end to end, from first design to production
- Own the hard parts of trustworthy AI at company scale, including retrieval quality, permissions, security, and reliability
- Embed with teams across the company, shipping AI into real workflows and collaborating with executive leadership
Required qualifications
- Proven track record of building production systems at Staff+ scope, particularly in data infrastructure or applied AI
- Hands-on experience with the modern AI stack and familiarity with the challenges of AI reliability
- Pragmatic technology instincts with a preference for proven tools
- Experience as a founding engineer, consultant, or in a forward-deployed role
- Daily working relationship with AI tools and agents, demonstrating a strong understanding of their applications
