Job Summary
As the founding technical seat, the full-time Principal Software Engineer, AI will architect and build new internal AI systems from design to production, ensuring trustworthy AI at scale while working remotely within a small, senior team in the Office of the CEO.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build new internal AI systems end to end, from first design to production
- Own the challenges of trustworthy AI, including retrieval quality, permissions, security, and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to integrate AI into real workflows
Required qualifications
- Proven experience building production systems at a Staff+ level, particularly in data infrastructure or applied AI
- Hands-on expertise with the modern AI stack and experience with AI system failures
- Strong pragmatic technology instincts with a preference for proven tools
- Experience as a founding engineer or in consulting roles, with a focus on ownership of outcomes
- Regular working relationship with AI tools and agents for practical application and development
