Principal Systems Operations Manager
Job Summary
As a strategic and operational leader, the full-time remote Principal Systems Operations Manager will oversee the performance, availability, and modernization of systems supporting the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), ensuring seamless operations and governance over system changes and incidents.
Key responsibilities
- Own end-to-end system availability and operational continuity, leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for major incidents
- Guide infrastructure modernization initiatives and collaborate with teams to implement security best practices and remediate vulnerabilities
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of ITSM processes, managing incident, problem, change, and service request management across all system tiers
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master's or PMP preferred)
- 10+ years in IT systems engineering, operations, or infrastructure leadership, preferably in Medicare MIS or healthcare platforms
- 5+ years in technical and service delivery leadership roles
- Deep expertise in ITIL4, ITSM, and technical project execution within complex, regulated environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA, SOC, and enterprise compliance frameworks
