Principal Technical Writer
Job Summary
Leading the creation and management of high-quality technical documentation, the full-time Principal Technical Writer will collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate complex technical information into user-friendly content while working remotely from the United States or Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of product user guides, release notes, and other technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product functionality and create clear documentation
- Establish documentation standards and manage cross-functional documentation initiatives for multiple products
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in technical writing for complex software applications
- Proven expertise in creating comprehensive technical documentation with minimal existing specifications
- Strong proficiency with documentation and graphics tools such as Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign
- Experience collaborating effectively with technical and functional stakeholders in software development environments
