Job Summary
Supporting a rapidly growing team, the full-time remote Privacy and IP Counsel will provide legal guidance on privacy, product, and marketing compliance, negotiate SaaS contracts, and manage intellectual property matters, including AI-related legal issues.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on privacy, AI, and cybersecurity matters, maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Review, draft, and negotiate SaaS agreements and other contracts, focusing on privacy and AI/ML terms
- Advise on marketing IP, trademarks, and copyright issues, ensuring compliance with advertising laws and brand protection
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of substantive legal experience with a legal department or a nationally recognized law firm
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing
- Strong working knowledge of privacy law and experience with data processing agreements and privacy questionnaires
- In-house experience with a technology/SaaS company, particularly in SaaS agreements and technology transactions
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification
