Job Summary
Providing practical legal advice on U.S. and global privacy matters, the full-time Privacy Legal Counsel will support Nielsen's privacy program while collaborating with various business teams in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on privacy compliance, data governance, and risk mitigation across business operations and commercial transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements and privacy provisions in commercial contracts
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and due diligence on third parties, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations
Required qualifications
- 2 - 5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or related legal work, preferably in-house or with a law firm
- J.D. or equivalent legal qualification with admission to at least one U.S. state bar
- Experience with U.S. state privacy regulations, including CCPA/CPRA
- Demonstrated experience conducting privacy impact assessments and drafting data processing agreements
- Strong legal research, writing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate complex privacy requirements clearly
