Privacy Program Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the technical core of the privacy program, the full-time Privacy Program Engineer will build automation layers, manage data subject rights, and embed privacy practices into engineering workflows while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain privacy automation, including scripts and API integrations for request handling and compliance monitoring
- Own the data subject rights program, creating automated pipelines for intake, identity verification, and fulfillment tracking
- Embed privacy considerations into product design, advising on data handling techniques and ensuring compliance with retention and deletion requirements
Required qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in privacy, GRC, IT audit, or information security with hands-on privacy work
- Working knowledge of GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, along with familiarity with ISO 27701, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, SOC 2, and NIST
- Hands-on experience with technical privacy operations, including data subject requests and privacy impact assessments
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language for querying and automating tasks
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their data retention behaviors
