Product Development Formulator
Job Summary
Owning the technical stewardship of existing product formulations, the full-time Product Development Formulator will ensure compliance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness while managing reformulations and cross-functional collaborations, either remotely or on-site.
Key responsibilities
- Lead qualification of alternate materials and execute compliance-driven reformulations to ensure nutritional accuracy and manufacturability
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and QA to troubleshoot material variability and address technical issues
- Develop and maintain accurate product specifications and manage documentation workflows for sustaining activities
Required qualifications
- BS in food science, chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry or a related field
- Knowledge of Food & Supplement regulations, including DSHEA and FD&C Act Section 21 CFR 111, is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
- Ability to objectively review scientific literature related to ingredient efficacy and safety
