Job Summary

Leading engineering efforts for a groundbreaking peer-to-peer messaging and video calling app, the full-time Product Engineering Lead will manage the API and frontend teams, ensuring high standards of performance and reliability while collaborating closely with product managers to translate vision into actionable features in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations for the API and frontend teams, focusing on unblocking and maintaining shipping momentum
• Set and uphold high engineering standards for performance, reliability, and API design
• Collaborate with product managers to transform the product vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work

Required qualifications

• Experience managing engineers or engineering leads in consumer product development, preferably in chat or social applications
• Strong product sense with the ability to discern valuable features from unnecessary ones
• Intuition for distributed and local-first systems, including familiarity with offline-first and eventual consistency concepts
• Proficiency in JavaScript and React
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and resilience, along with the ability to provide and accept direct feedback
