Job Summary

Leading engineering efforts for a groundbreaking peer-to-peer messaging and video calling app, the full-time remote Product Engineering Lead will manage the API and frontend teams to deliver high-quality features while collaborating closely with product managers to translate vision into actionable tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day operations of the API and frontend teams, ensuring timely delivery and high performance
• Own the technical design of features and maintain a high engineering standard for performance and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers to align engineering work with product vision and roadmap, proposing solutions when scope and reality diverge

Required qualifications

• Experience managing engineers or engineering leads in consumer product development, preferably in chat, calling, or social applications
• Strong product sense with the ability to distinguish valuable features from unnecessary ones
• Intuition for distributed and local-first systems, with familiarity in offline-first and eventual consistency principles
• Proficiency in JavaScript and React
