Production Associate I

Job Summary

To support the editorial design team, the full-time remote Production Associate I will oversee typesetting for book interiors, assist with reprints, and provide production and design support for various book-related tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee typesetting for 30 book interiors annually and provide electronic files for production
• Collaborate with the production team to update backlist files for reprinting and new formats
• Assist with book-related tasks and stay updated on relevant design software and technology

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Expertise in designing and typesetting complex scholarly books, including charts and tables
• High level of proficiency in Adobe InDesign using styles
• Experience in designing and producing typeset book files using the Scribe XML Well-Formed Document Workflow
• Three or more years of experience in book text design, preferably with a university press or academic publisher
