Production Editor
Job Summary
To support the Penguin Random House Christian division, the full-time remote Production Editor will manage the production process for a variety of titles, ensuring quality from manuscript to bound book while collaborating with editorial and design teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the scheduling and assignment of work to freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers
- Review and input corrections into manuscripts and e-pub files, ensuring adherence to house style
- Interact with authors and stakeholders to resolve queries and maintain production schedules under tight deadlines
Required qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of Christian theology and Bible scripture
- A minimum of 5 years of trade publishing experience in production editorial
- Exceptional copyediting and proofreading skills
- Working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style 18th Edition
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF markup
