Production Editor
Job Summary
Detail-oriented and meticulous, the remote Production Editor will manage the production process for a variety of titles within the Penguin Random House Christian division, overseeing freelance editorial work and ensuring high-quality book production from manuscript to final print and e-pub files.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborates with editors and authors to ensure quality book production, starting from the copyedit stage
- Schedules and assigns tasks to freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers while reviewing their work for accuracy
- Maintains production schedules and ensures adherence to house style and quality standards throughout all stages of production
Required qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of Christian theology and Bible scripture
- A minimum of 5 years of trade publishing experience in production editorial
- Exceptional copyediting and proofreading skills
- Working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style 18th Edition
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF markup
