Production Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support day-to-day operations of complex application cloud systems, the full-time remote Production Support Engineer will manage system outages, develop technical solutions, and ensure compliance with security policies while collaborating with users and senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document problems and solutions accurately using logging and discrepancy reporting tools
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain compliance with VA standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related fields, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
